My Pinto Got Washed Away
« on: June 06, 2011, 04:47:26 PM »
I'm sorry to report, and I'm late to report, that my Pinto is no more.  My cousin had it in his brother-in-law's barn in northwestern Arkansas until late April, just after Easter.  The barn and everything in it, including cows, farm equipment, and the car, got washed away in a flood.  It was found about two weeks and 20 miles downstream later, with nothing much salvageable.

Mine was a brown 1974 hatchback.  In 1985, the Smithsonian Institution turned down the Pinto when I offered to donate it but asked to keep the photo album I had sent.

Here's the Facebook album where I first broke the news:  http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150226443428115.363546.726028114.   I note that I posted some photos earlier at  http://www.panoramio.com/user/578317/tags/Pinto

Now really "Sad Eye" Joe

Oh no! Your Runabout looks exactly like my '74... in color and everything. I'm so sorry for the disaster that took the barn and all that was in it.  Did the cows survive?
One can never have too many Pintos!
