I know of one person that was able to get 77 material from them. something like this is best to call. could also do a search on google for factory or oem vinyl material reupholster auto. there are other sources and no... materials changed throughout the years

looks like SMS only goes up to 1975. Would the colors be the same for the later models?

winsor351 - google sms auto fabrics - you will have to match your material and have a local reupholster them for you. no place to buy nos/repop covers for pintos

76 Runabout street toy
« on: June 15, 2005, 09:09:23 PM »
Here are some pictures of my son's 76 Runabout. It has a .040 over 302, ported/polished 289 heads and a H270 compcam. (Somehow it passes Tennessee emissions testing with the .500 lift cam). It has a Torker II intake with a 600cfm carb. The ignition is all MSD with the box mounted in the glove compartment. The trans is a C4 with a 3000 stall converter and a Hurst quarter stick going to a Ford 9" rear. We had to use a Ford Granada radiator with electric fan for cooling. All gauges are Auto meter. It has a 4 point roll bar and a 10 gal fuel cell with an external Holley fuel pump. The battery is mounted behind the passenger seat. We have an appointment at the paint shop the end of June to get it shot with Plum Crazy Purple. I will post more pictures after paint. Anyone have any ideas on how to make it better? This is just a street toy and will not be drag raced.

We finally got it out of the paint shop.... with the storms and humidity, they didn't want to shoot it until better weather. I asked the guy at the paint shop how it looked before going and picking it up and his reply was that it looked like a big plum sitting out in front of the shop.....plum or not, we love it...

Yeah, pretty much the same color.. I wanted Canary Yellow or something like that, but my mother always loved Plum Crazy Purple. So, knowing better than to try to argue with her, thats what color it is.

Really nice Pegesus. Excellant choice of color. Beautiful engine job. I hope mine comes out that good looking.
Started with a Bobcat wagon. Then a Cruising wagon. Now a Chocolate brown 77 wagon. I will enjoy this car for a long time. I'm in. High_Horse

thanks for the kind comments concerning my pinto everyone. by the way we are
putting new weatherstrippi ng on the doors and hatch. for information purposes we
are using universal weatherstrippi ng from jc whitley. door weatherstrippi ng is cat-
alog number 812674-universal door weatherstrippi ng ty, hatch weatherstrippi ng is
catalog number 133229 - stick-on weaterstrippin g style 3. you will have to order 2
of the door weatherstrippi ng and 2 for the hatch. door weatherstrippi ng requires
some trimming at the top of the door in order for the door to close properly. also
on the door weatherstrippi ng you will need to make your own holes in it in order
to use the plastic holders which push in the holes used to hold the weather-
stripping in place on the edge of the door.
