looks like SMS only goes up to 1975. Would the colors be the same for the later models?

winsor351 - google sms auto fabrics - you will have to match your material and have a local reupholster them for you. no place to buy nos/repop covers for pintos

75 Pinto
« on: December 22, 2006, 03:20:35 PM »
I'm new to this site, I have a 75 Pinto used for drag racing. Theres not alot of money in it but it's fun to drive and it does'nt usually brake. Has a 2.3 motor with a small SVO cam (hyd) balanced and I lightened the rods and cast pistons a little, 5 speed trans from a Mustang, 9" diff and alot of gear. 28x9x15 good years. Made the headers my self, run a best of 15.09/84 MPH running lean. I think there's alot more in it????? Just wanted to share,  little thunder

Thanks guys ,I have a picture some wheres but I'll have to dig it out.Put it up where I would'nt lose it. I got to change the front springs, we stripped the car out and the springs extended all the way out so we heated the bottom 2 coils and now it don't lift like it should. I'm thinking 2.0 springs w/o air but not sure yet. Will look for picture and post it.    Thanks for the interest, little thunder

we are going to try again, hope that they come out better with more detail. This is my 75 Pinto drag car.
OK, it won't take the picture and it's compressed to 66.7 kb, any suggestions                                                      little thunder

If you have a photo shop type program you can size the picture to 999kb and post it.

I would like to see the engine ...any pics?

I had a hood with a scoop just like that...I had to gaine clearance for the carb after swithing to a 79 carbed /turbo intake ... it was a blast.

Makes me want another Pinto.

The 2.3T Pintos are way too much fun. Mine runs mid elevens with 1.50's sixty ft. times and the wheels in the air. It's A full interior, all steel, true daily driver. I promise you there is a lot more in your little car. Just keep beating on it and it will come around. I wish mine was a small bumper car. You got a nice ride. Keep us posted. Curtis

Heh I had my Pinto out again and guess what, it slowed down 2 sec. so disappointing. Had some clutch problems so I changed the disc & pressure plate.Hopefull y this will help, I also think it was to fat, maybe needs a bigger carb. Only has a 350 holley now thinking of a 500 2-v. Better luck next time I guess.Just thought I'd let you all know what was happening.
