My '79 2.3 automatic with 74,000 on the OD and all original Pinto stuff so far, well, except for the 2.3 grill badge. I'm in the process of dressin it up. I have a lot of parts to add before I paint it. I'm thinkin Black with 2 Burnt orange stripes. I'll add pics as I progress but here's a few as of last week.

I have a rear spoiler to be installed also but it was removed from a '79 Bobcat with a full glass hatch so it will take some engineering. Any ideas?

I have installed  NOS Louvers on the rear hatch since I took this shot and also have a perfect pair of Comet tail lights to be installed soon. Any ideas on the best way to make the cut-outs?

The interior is like new and original except for the wheel cover and the cover to the E-brake lever. I have the original but I installed this one because it has an ash tray in the rear and a small space for puttin stuff on the top.

Here's my little motor. All original, nothin fancy but it runs great and doesn't smoke or fart (can't say that 'bout the wife). The only thing missing is an A/C compressor. It never had one so I guess Ford didn't think it needed one.

I have a 79 Bobcat with a all glass hatch and I got the rear spoiler for it too.  ??? I think to mount them you have to have a all glass hatch.  There is a filler strip that is below the glass that might have to come off. Or you have to mount a angle iron on to the filler strip to attach the upper part of the spoiler. It doesn't look like it would be close enough to the glass if you leave the filler on.  I don't want to mess up my filler strip to try it out until I  find another one I find another one to drill holes in. :-\  For the the end pieces I was going to get some of the 3M glue that the body guys use for installing body moldings. Instead of drill holes in the rear quarters.   Hopefully someone in the club has a Rallye and can tell us what to do.    Do you know where I can find another 79-80 front spoiler?   I could use one on my 79 Cruising wagon . I have a 77-78 spoiler to trade for one.  Check out my pics  labeled  My Late models and Business Panel.

I don't know if it's still there, but there WAS a late model front spoiler on Ebay.

If'n I reccollect properly the late model spoiler is a 3pc job. mounting the sides with 3M tape probably won't be sturdy enough to hold. The shape of the side pieces does actually make a little downforce, therefore drag would pull of even the strongest glue. As for the center section, I'm pretty sure it will bolt on & line up on a standard hatch. For the all glass job the factory drilled holes, & I would too, just so I didn't lose a REALLY hard to find piece.

But totljeep I'm diggin your car so far. The interior looks familiar to me, but in a whole LOT better shape LOL

Here is a shot with the newly added center console with dual cup holder, under dash lights (both sides) and a Kenwood stereo installed. Oh, and that's my youngest playing with the fuzzy dice.

Here's a shot of the glovebox light. Apparently that was an option that this car was not blessed with till now.

This pic is a close-up of the stereo, the driverside underdash light and the toggle switch for the lights. Those lights really brighten this car up at night!

Hey  let us know what kind of car the center console and E brake cover came from.  I'd like that in my Pintos.   Have you come up with any way to mount the rear spoiler yet.  If so post some pics   and of the Comet taillights installed.  I'd like to see what they look like .

The console is from an '86 Mustang. I cut it to fit and fabbed a steel bracket to mount the rear with the cup holders that I bought at O-Reillys. The E-brake cover was an Ebay item, said to have been removed from a 70's Mustang Cobra. This cover was a straight swap, very simple and fit perfectly. The console and cup holders were quite a task. Took most of an entire day but it fits nice, looks good and the E-brake lever fits right in the center of the dual cup holders. If anyone is interested, the under dash lights are OEM Jeep CJ-7. I haven't gotten around to the rear spoiler and tail lights yet and probably not till spring but I will post pics when I do.
