'76 Olympic edition (Canadian)
« on: November 04, 2007, 01:45:25 PM »
this was sent from a person owning a now kinda rare '76 Olympic edition (Canadian) pinto

Hi Jeff,

Finally, I've taken some pictures. You'll see that it's in pretty
good shape, especially the interior. The carpet is a bit faded and
there is a crack in the dash. Mileage is at 57,898.

The two back wheel wells have some rusting and there is a bit of
surface rust along the passenger door. The back bumper has some rust,
but all in all it's a beauty!

I hope all the pictures go through. If not, I'll send them in a few
batches.

If anyone is interested in buying this special edition, please ask
them to contact me.

Thanks.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Something weird about that grille.
 ???
1 Pinto, 2 Mustangs, 2 trucks and an 07 Freestyle.  Maybe I should thin the herd a bit? My classic cars are for sale!  I live in Tucson, AZ :D

You wish you were working on your car?  MINE were 2000 miles away! Mine are now for sale and the AZ originals are rust-free.

I lived in Montreal in 1976 when we had the summer Olympics.  I had a friend whose father had a 1976 Pontiac LeMans, Olympic edition.  White with a red interior, red emblems everywhere.  If I recall, there was also an Olympic version of the Chevy Malibu.

I had forgotten that Ford had an Olympic version of the Pinto.  Way cool.

BTW, have you guys seen this Bobcat on ebay?  It is in Burlington, Ontario.  About 20 minutes from where I live now.

I loved mine, it was my first Pinto.  Why do you say it's ugly?

Maybe it is how the bumpers stand out 1FOOT beyond the car????

Thumbs up for posting pics of this car...i'd say it is rare and it does look like an uncommon grill. Maybe it is the way the pic was taken. Are there any pics straight front???
I as well am no fan of those 5 mph bumpers.

Started with a Bobcat wagon. Then a Cruising wagon. Now a Chocolate brown 77 wagon. I will enjoy this car for a long time. I'm in. High_Horse
