Serving the Pinto Community,

WWW
« on: January 09, 2008, 09:20:19 PM »

WE have the winners of the FordPinto.com 2009 Calendars,  Check it out!

If you are a winner you have until August 31st to  get your pictures to us...  That's right AUGUST 31ST!!

Download your instructions now and get cooking,

http://www.fordpinto.com/2009PCCACalendar.pdf

The 2009 PCCA / FordPinto.com Calendar starts NOW,

Here is how it's going to work,

Now until April 15th 2008 we will be asking for you to 'enter' your Pintos by posting a picture of your Pinto & a short description in this thread. FYI- Every Pinto MUST have a PCCA Sticker BEFORE the final shoot.

April 16th- April 30th we will put up a poll asking for everyone to 'vote' on which 20 cars are the best.

May 1st-May 15th the Charter Members will cut the number of Pintos to 15 and decide what cars will be what months (with 3 as runner-up backup entries)

The Admins will announce the 15 winners on July 16th in this thread. All 15 winners will be expected to download the instructions which includes purchasing a disposable 35mm camera and shooting your car in a scenic vista of your choice. certain shots will be required, ie. front back side etc but you can 'ad lib' from there. Sorry NO DIGITAL images will be accepted this year due to misunderstandi ngs about resolution as opposed to actual photo or file size. The only way to guarantee the SAME quality across the calendar is if everyone is on the same page.

The Charter Members & Admins will complete the calendars and have them available to order no later than September 30th 2008 through Cafe Press.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So... Let's start posting your Pinto Pictures & get the ball rolling!!!

No representation is made that the Charter Members or Admins actually know what they are doing, in each and every case of actual knowledge exhibited by any of your CM or Admins there has always been a definite deliberate admission of for thought that closely resembles IQ scores closer to mice as opposed to Horses (Pintos). Actual embellishments or expressions of understanding are limited in scope to curtail any real or known importance. User be worried.

Final Fifteen! The month of FEBRUARY

PHOTOS are IN Thanks !!!

These are of Connie's car.

This car found us about 3 years ago. It was rescued by a guy that worked at the junk yard it had been hauled to. He purchased it before the title was turned in, and he made an attempt at putting it on the road and had plans to restore it. He did not have the Pinto 'know-how' to do much with it, and he did might have done more harm to it than good. He had contacted a good friend of mine asking if he knew of anyone that might want a Pinto and my name came up (some how). It took over three months for the owner to contact me, but he did and we went to look at with the intention of getting another parts car. The car ran, but mechanically that’s all we could tell. During his ownership of it, he seller had lost the keys, busted out a quarter window, ‘popped’ the column, as well as dented it up quite a bit. It had an interesting interior and a few neat options that made Connie fall for it right away. Aside from the window and column, to put it on the road it needed: carb. work, a rear main seal, a steering rack, outer tie-rod ends, brakes and lines, a rear axle, rear springs, a battery, tires, a power steering pump, a radiator, an exhaust system, and a bunch of other things. Once we had it running well, we started in on the ‘looks’. A plethora of NOS parts plus a paint job and here it is.

Thanks,
Bill

Final Fifteen! The month of MARCH

PHOTOS ARE IN YIPPY!!!

Up for consideration is my 1971 V8 Pinto. This winters projects have been: (1) new intake scoop which required a stock hood replacement; (2) front and rear bumpers were replaced with rechromed pieces; (3) new valve covers and some hoses replaced under hood; (4) special designed Pinto logos on front fenders; and (5) timing gears (loud) installed. I really like the NEW LOOK and look forward to bringing the car to Knott's again this year. Joe In Morgan Hill, CA.

Final Fifteen! RUNNER UP...

PHOTOS ARE IN..THANKS BILL

Now for the 'His' Pinto.....

I bought this one in the fall of 2000. A coworker that knew I was looking to build another circle track Pinto told me about this one he saw at a gas station/garage. It belonged to the owners mother and was her daily driver until late summer that year. It had 32K, a 2.3/C3/6.75", and was tan with cloth chamois's interior. When I saw it I had doubts about it going to the track as it was in very good shape (less the right door and interior). She fired right up and drove onto my trailer. Connie and I decided very quickly to register it, at least for a while. All it took was one cruise night and we were hooked. The decision was made to keep it on the road and put a V8 in it, but my attention soon turned to an EFI 2.3T. The car is now yellow with black interior.

In addition to the EFI 2.3T, I also installed/swapped:
T-5 5spd,
AeroStar aluminum driveshaft,
8" rear from a Maverick,
Granada rotors,
FMIC,
Crusin' Wagon front spoiler,
all glass hatch,
79/80 Pinto rear spoiler,
Mustang/Cobra II front & rear sway bars,
factory Pinto tach. & gauges,
1973 Mustang wheels,
and Ford 'Zinc Yellow' color code 'B7'

Thanks for looking,
Bill

Final Fifteen! RUNNER UP...

PHOTOS ARE IN

The car we drive is usually something personal about us. Our pintos are part of our life and enjoy taking them out to shows or just the market.
My pinto has been mine for over 30 years. I would appreciate it to be included in the pinto calender and would encourage non pinto owner to buy one.
I own the blue '71 coupe with a 460 and pro street rear end. I have been to many San Diego area car shows and represent our cars with pride. Thank you for a consideration.

Final Fifteen! The month of AUGUST

PHOTOS ARE  IN AND SHINY

Everyone meet Sam- A 1975 Sedan
I picked the car up nearly a year ago after my first pinto (76 Sedan) decided to retire. The poor 75 was sitting in a fenced off lot and the more interested I sounded in buying it from the guy, the more he wanted to keep it for himself. But he finally decided to let it go, and just a few days later he drove it to my town and parted ways with it. The most used phrase for the next week or so from all my friends was “ANOTHER one???”  The car certainly needed some mild TLC, but it wasn’t until the engine blew on the freeway, that I realized it would be a big project. That’s when I decided “what the heck, why not make it perfect?”  It took about 7 months to install a new engine into Sam, and I also replaced the carpet along with touching up little details here and there. [Just installed a new dash cap this weekend] The paint is original, it just took some hardcore waxing and now you can barely tell the paint is 30 years old. It seems like I can’t go anywhere without being stopped and asked about the car, I’ve even had people knock on my window while I’m sitting in it during break at work. People are always in awe as to how perfect the body and interior is, but the true astonishment shows on their face once the hood is popped open. Anyone hungry? You could eat off of it =] But in reality, every pinto is magnetic to attention. Don’t they deserve to be? Even my junker 76 had adoring fans. Every pinto deserves to be adored. Don’tcha think? Which reminds me, I just moved a few weeks ago and guess what’s parked across the street? A pinto! Two pintos on the same street [that aren’t owned by the same person] how awesome is that?

See you guys at Knott’s this weekend!
Emily

Final Fifteen! The month of OCTOBER

PHOTOS NOT IN YET

Woah talk about last mintue! I had got caught up in other things the past couple of weeks and just luckily got on the site today to remember to submit my entry. Didn't get the car cleaned up but I did get some shots of the clean parts haha. The car is a 1978 Ford Pinto "Bad Dog Beegle" with only 1,800 street miles, been a drag car most of its life. 500 HP Beegle Racing 302, P.M me for a list of mods if you don't think its true. Car runs 6.90's at 100mph 1/8th mile, never set up or ran on the quarter, yet. Custom paint and hood, racing inspired interior, but other than that the body is stock Pinto power! Car will soon be a street/strip. Anyhoo, without further rambling, my Pinto.

Thanks for the consideration in advance!

PHOTOS ARE IN !!!!! A+++

PLEASE REPOST YOUR PHOTOS>>>  THANKS...

Awe damn it! How is it that this is the first time I have heard about this? Damn my job keeping me busy! Am I too late? Whose butt to I have to kiss to still be allowed in?

A little history....
This is the only 74 Pangra in existance. It is one of 6 wagons to have been produced and one of two still known of. Bought "new" on December 31, 1975. What do you expect, the car stickered $7,500. I bought the car off of the original owners son. All paper work was included. The car had burnt to the ground in 1988 and sat untill 2004 when I bought it.

Here is my sisters (sirhugh) submission:
78 Hatchback, 2.3.

Hello Scott,
Do I mail the camera or the photos to you for the calendar?
What is the mailing address to send???
 From Pintony

info from the PDF info sheet you need to print, fill out and send with photos.

download PDF here --> http://www.fordpinto.com/2009PCCACalendar.pdf

You will need to purchase a disposable camera that you can take at least 12 pictures with. Please do not send any
Polaroid pictures because they do not reproduce well. You will need to supply FordPinto.com with 2 pictures of
the engine compartment, 2 pictures of the interior, and 8 pictures of the exterior of your car. When taking the
pictures of the exterior of your car, please remember to take shots that show all sides of the car. If possible, have
the photos developed into 4 x 6 prints, and avoid glossy finishes, also keep in mind that a flash will most likely be
needed for your engine and interior shots, and also for your car shots if they are taken indoors. Label the pictures
of your car on the back of the pictures in the order that you like the photos (from favorite to least favorite). We will
do all we can to use the photo that you like the best, but we will not guarantee that will be the case. Do not include
people in the photos, if you do, we won’t use them. Also, try to take the pictures of your car at a nice scenic
location.
