3M™ General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner.
I use it on Million dollar Helicopters, won't harm the paint  works great!

I've seen this before and was what I was considering... will not hurt the fiberglass either?

and you think clear silicone will work good as a bonding agent? instead of the tape?

Try a little test on a old piece of painted sheet metal with silicone, let it set fow a few days and try to pull it apart you'll be surprised how strong it is..

I am going to hijack your thread for a minute.  Yesterday I noticed that when the drivers seat is folded forward it misses the 3 pod by about an inch.. Nice work since I know you planed it that way...... :amazed:

I calculate the trajectory of seat along a flight path to the A pillar so Ralph Nader Wound't Bitch about my design! I didn't want the gauges exploding on impact!
