Wanted: 1971 Pinto Parts
« on: October 26, 2008, 08:31:39 AM »
I will take almost anything, but for now I am looking for OK/good used or NOS:

Wheel lip moldings all, but at least the left side ones for now
Rubber and metal side trim for the drivers side q-panel (anti door-ding stuff)
Rear bumper (w/inserts) and gaurds
Left front fender
Inside door handles (not the 'pulls')
ANY 71 specific parts, and parts for the small window hatch

Thank you,
Bill

Bill, I may have the door handles.  I had a set years ago but at the moment I am not sure where they are.  I will look and get back to you.  Are the 71 fenders different than the 72-73's?  I know there is a difference between the headlight doors 2 vs 3 screws so I assume the fender is specific?

I took a 77 fender (out of inventory) and was able to line up a "D2..." headlight door to it. All I needed to do was drill one hole for a little tab to go into on the lower inner part and it fits good, but with a little tinkering it should be perfect. One thing: the headlight is not centered, but then again the right side one on the car is not either.....

Thanks Tigger, here is a photo of the trim (Its about 8"X 13/16").

The other photo is for Brad (we share the same opinion on the matter).

I am also looking for door shell parts to fix my stock doors. I could use the bottom 6 inches of donor doors, maybe from ones that have other damage on them.

My right side might be repairable without a donor, but my left needs massive work. (a new door might really be needed)

I have doors I could bolt on, but I have been told that the early glass will not fit into them.

Thanks.

I think I have the correct q-trim part and the wheel lip molding, but I might want better ones.

Also, I think I have the early fender.
