Bobcat Hatch (Non-Wagon)
« on: October 14, 2008, 06:46:36 AM »
I am looking for a Bobcat (metal and glass style) hatch from a H/B. I don't need the glass, just the frame.

Thanks,
Bill

It is different because it has holes to mount letters to spell 'Mercury', and the pin locations for the 'Bobcat' script.

If I wanted to modify one I would have a long time ago.

Phil,

"Need" is a strong word in this case.  I would like to get one if I can, but it is for my auto-x car that I might be fully gutting anyway.

Please let me know when you are going to be ready to get rid of it, and we can fugure it out then.

Thanks,
Bill

it would only take about 15 minuets to lay out and drill the holes
not trying to contradict u but this sounds like the fastest fix
they sell the little nylon inserts in the help packets for $1.99

If you were doing one that way, thats fine, nothing wrong with it. I don't want to do that, not to say I can't, or that I did not think of doing it. I know if I took the time to mark all the locations and weld up all the visible unused holes I could have 'my' hatch (I think it would take much longer than your estimate). Doing this modification so that all the letters will be evenly spaced, lined up, and straight would NOT easy. Even if only one or two letters are 'off' just a little will make them 'stand out', and I DON'T want that. For all the time and effort involved to do it correctly, I would rather just find the right hatch.
