Hi Mike. I give you both thumbs up for keeping your long and well-running '76 wagon, well, up and running! My '71 doesn't have as many miles on her but she's racking up memories for me as well as miles on her!  ;D

1980 pinto 4 speed no wagons or hatchbacks
« on: January 25, 2010, 12:53:11 AM »
my step father just totales his 1980 pinto coupe. It is as if he lost a child. He bought the car new and owns several other vehicles but always drove the same old "pinto bean" as he called it every day. I really want to find one for him, good interior would be nice. no engine would be cool. he has five!!! please someone help me to reunite this 65 yearold man with his true love.....his pinto
nickandchas1@comcast.net we are in Georgia but will travel fair distance.

Hi!

So sorry to hear about your step-father's Pinto.  What a loss!  I don't personally have one I want to get rid of, but you have definitely come to the right place.  You'll see Pintos of just about every description listed in the Classifieds section, and the folks here tend to know when/where Pintos are for sale.  I'm in Virginia, but I have a friend in Maryland who sells some very nice Pintos from time. He however,  is not a member here.  If Maryland is not too far away for you, I'd be glad to give you his contact information.

I would like to help you in your search.
Alot of the members use thier local Craigslist. Now don't runaway, listen. Pintogirl has shared with us a way to search Craiglist up to 250 miles from your home. Go to searchtempest.com type in pinto, make sure search is set in cars for sell by all. Enjoy the new site and find him a new Pinto.
If life gives you a lemon, squeeze it in your moonshine and buy a Pinto.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I love my '79 but unfortunately don't know of any '80 models up for sale. Wish you the best.

And not to hijack the thread... the searchtempest. com tip was great! I've already searched for Pinto's in my area and called about one in Ohio already! Five minutes LOL! I really want one that runs good but doesn't look new like mine so I can drive it to college without a worry.

I know a man who owns a lot (It will be in this months issue of Pinto Times) who has three Pintos on his lot. All three have the square headlights and are either 79's or 80's. One is a wagon, which rules it out. But one of the other two is definitely a coupe. It is white and looks good. The other one is red, and looks just as solid, but I don't have a photo to tell me if it was a coupe or a hatchback. I couldn't get into the lot at the time (It was closed behind fences) but I spoke with him since and I'm going to look at the cars as soon as all the #$%!!! snow stops. I'll post his info after I make certain it's ok with him, but I will find out about the car for you either way.
