Wagon locks and keys
« on: December 06, 2014, 01:30:35 PM »
Thought you might be interested in the following story,
one of the first jobs to do after I picked up  a lost Pinto in the Netherlands, was getting the locks fixed. It had a newer ignition lock with working key, and one totally worn key for the doors and trunk.
I found a complete new set at  carlocksandkey s.com, and had it shipped.
This set had one key (and a backup) for ignition and door locks, and a different lock and keys for the trunk.
On install I found out that the wagon doesn't use the different lock in the trunk, but that it needs one that is identical to the door locks.
I made contact with George at carlocksandkey s, and he was very helpful in exchanging the trunk lock.
He also changed the key code for the third door lock, so now I have a one key car.
So keep in mind, the hatchback has a totally different trunk lock system than the wagon, the complete set for a hatchback will have different keys for the trunk. If you need a complete set for a wagon, be sure to specify a door lock for the trunk, and with the same key code.
