Reolacing the door hinge pins
« on: April 04, 2009, 06:38:27 PM »
I know this is going to be of use to anyone on here...

Anyways while some people have posted about needing hinge pins & others have said a GM pin works I have some more information..

This can be found in the HELP! section at auto parts stores & the part number is 38400. You will need two per door and they cost about $6 each.

Just cut out the old pin, knock out the old bushings, lightly knock in the new ones, drive the pin on home & shorten it up. It is a little longer than the original pin, but who cares about that. It is easily cut with a hacksaw, and makes a world of difference with the door.

Hope this helps anyone that needs them.
