Too many cars, not enough time.
« on: January 15, 2012, 02:04:00 PM »
It's true guys, I have officially gone off the deep end.  Not only am I gonna try to fix the bugs the Pinto has but am also trying to get my Dodge Omni GLH Turbo back on the road. She has been sitting with a blown turbocharger since 2007 & this year I am getting off my butt to get her going again. Carlisle All Ford show at the beginning of June & SDAC 22 at the end of June. (Shelby Dodge Auto Club) Got to get some touching up to the Pinto's paint a little bit. New mirrors need painted & a few chips need fixing. So much money to spend, not enough time.

I AM LOSING MY MIND!!!!!  ::) :P :'( ;D

I feel your pain... Need to fix a valve on my 64.5 Mustang, and freshen it up a bit. I also need to get the new engine into my 69 LTD coupe, and get the interior cleaned up. Gotta get the maintainence and light repairs done to my 94 Aspire, and get it tagged. Dying to start the restos on my 67 Mustang vert and 69 Falcon SportsCoupe. Also want to get the 302 swap on my 78 Pinto hatch started. And I just agreed to buy a 73 Pinto Squire wagon from a friend.... not to mention the work I still want to do to my daily driver 93 Festiva, including the turbo... :)

I bought an Omni in 82 It was the most comfortable car I have ever sat in. It was the worst lemon I ever bought. The freon blew out my hoses 6 times wile still under guarantee. The engine missed and would never tune properly. Then E.P.A. called me in 84 and said they wanted to run tests and experiment on my car. I figured how can I lose? If anyone could get my car running, it would be them. So the E.P.A. took the Omni and provided me with a new Dodge Dynasty to use. They said they would experiment on my car, get it running and return it. I got the Dynasty and they paid for all the gas I used wile I had their car, plus said they would pay me $100 per week, for the week they needed it. What a deal!!!  I got free usage of a car, free gas, and I would uses the $100 for a new fly fishing pole. I told them to keep it as long as they wanted. They called me after a week and asked if they could keep it one more week. I said PLEASE DO ! Well 2 weeks led to 3 and then 4.  After 10 weeks they gave me $1000.00 and my car back. I tried to get them to keep it, but alas it wasn't to be. So now you all are thinking, Bill made out like a bandit, Right? No, the car still ran like crap. My wife insisted I put the $1000 down on a new Dynasty. She did not want to give the E.P.A. their car back, she loved it. The $1000.00 was nice but I ended up buying a car that cost 2 1/2 times what the Omni cost. 60 months of payments and no new fly pole.
