life changes
« on: October 28, 2012, 07:05:29 AM »
In life there is changes, that we have control over ,and those we do not..since July of 2012 I took control of my life, dropped 40 pounds, got my diabetes under control Dr cut meds in half. Cut stress out of my life..and reflected on what makes me happy !that's  cruzin around in my squire pinto, carshows, friends and family....when  u have someone in ur life, that takes that for granted time to move on..!  So I decided to go through, divorce to change the stress..  I now have a person in my life who stands beside me,and supports my ideas, Loves my pinto, and supports  me in helping with the charity work for the WWP.! 2013 is going to b definitely a new year ,but it is going to b a happy one!! .

Congrats !! My divorce set me free. If only I had done it 6 or 7 years earlier. I'm going on 5 years since I filed & after a couple dozen girlfriends I finally found one I want to stick with. Her & I do the Insanity workout together & I've dropped 26 pounds myself. It's all about getting your head right. By all means.....Enjo y it  :)

Isn't that the truth...gettin g ur head right!!  The last few yrs , getting mad cuz the car show wasn't over quick enough, hated the pinto...Well news flash no more rides for her!!  HAHA,  and she asked when I was selling the pinto? I said she would go down the road before the pinto would! Looking forward to 2013, many trips with the pinto, camping ect... Making new memories ..!!!! ;D

Well, I suppose congratulation s are in order.  I've been happily married for 21 years and can't imagine being otherwise, but my first marriage was a total flop so I DO know where you're coming from.  Best wishes!

Congratulation s! Glad to hear things are falling into place for you! I've been working on getting stress free myself, trying to perfect the work/home life balance. It has it's ups and downs, but is starting to work out slowly. Sounds like you are where I want to be! :)

Dave take it from me after 26 years of marriage it's no fun when the sheriff brings you divorce papers on the job. I have a good wife, who is very supportive... Now!!

I'm right there with you guys, but I'm lucky. My wife actually works on my Pintos with me. She doesn't have any desire in the least to drive them, but likes being outside with me. We've only been married 14 years, so I guess we're past any honeymoon bliss. Since I put Pinto Times on hiatus (I desperately want to make a comeback) I've been struck with shingles and Ramsey Hunt syndrome, which is a lot like Bells Palsy. Half my face is paralyzed and I had to stop going to grad school, and my brother died of cancer three days before Thanksgiving. All in all the entire situation puts things in their proper perspective. I will be quite content to play with my Pintos and generally relax a lot more than what I did before. Stress is much more damaging than what I had realized. It was definitely time to back off and rethink priorities. Feeling better now, I still look like hell, but I feel much better!

Been married to the same woman for 30+years. I've got 8 cars including my daily driver. While she is no "Car Lover" she does understand what they mean to me. When she suggested that I get my old Turbo Coupe out of the yard it was with her blessings that I got the Pinto to put the T/C parts in.  :-)

BTW at 6 feet and 162 pounds you won't find me on the Norditrack anytime soon.  I guess the skinny, "bully kicks sand in our face" guys get their revenge later in life.  LOL

After 4 years & a couple dozen women I think I found one worth keeping around. Anyone who lives a miserable life thinking they have no choice just needs to take that 1st step towards happiness to find some  ;D

2012 has been a rough year at our household.  Early in the year we took in my ailing Mom and handicapped sister to live with us.  Mom passed in July and my sister is now in Hospice care with not a lot longer to go.  We have Hospice nurses in and out a couple times a week and, since July, I've spent every spare moment of my life trying to clear out my Mom's house so we can settle her estate.  In addition to spare time, I've invested six weeks of vacation in this project as well!  In the meantime however, my son became engaged to the love of his life.  She's one of those "one in a million" gems!  Some of you met her at Carlisle in 2011.  They are getting married tomorrow.  Their wedding coincides with my wife's and my 21st wedding anniversary, and what would have been my parents' 60th anniversary.  All three couples married in the same church on December 20th... in 1952, 1991, and now 2012.  So... things are looking up!  I turned all of my mother's personal property over to an auction company who is packing and moving it to a large venue for an estate sale on January 5th.  I have sold the house and the closing date on that is January 11th.  Will try to rest up some over the Winter and hopefully when Spring arrives, I can get back to playing with my "toys".  My wife wasn't a car person when I married her either, but she became one.  We're down to five vehicles at the moment, but have owned as many as nine at a time.  Here's wishing everybody a very Merry Christmas!
Dwayne :)
