Anyone remember Hoppy Dip Strip'r?

Anyone remember when these were around? I'm trying to get an idea of when my dad got the one that is under my 78's hood. I'm thinking late 70s or early 80s.

I just bought those two, as I really like the convenience of them; eliminating the need to search for a rag or towel to wipe off the dipstick just to do a quick oil level check. Instead, I plan to replace the one on my 78 with a new one, and install one under the hood of the station wagon.
