  In the interest of time and space, I will try to respond to the last three posts, all at one time.  Hope something doesn't get lost or forgot [because of my memory]

  Re.  dga57
  Sorry you couldn't make it, please keep us in mind and if anything changes, stop by to see us.

  RE.  rearended
  What are you talking about, all I have is 70's era clothes.  There my everyday things  [ha ha ha ]   Also, hope the "user name" isn't an everyday happening. A terrible thought, even in something other than a Pinto

  Re. flyerpinto
  If you need help with "places to stay"  please send me a message.
  The idea of some kind decal etc. is a very good one.  I will look into it, purchase something myself.  If we get a big enough number  [I'd hope we do] maybe I'd be looking for help with cost, but I'm not going to worry about it for now
   HOWEVER, that makes it important   [AGAIN]  that I have a number.  So, I'd ask  [AGAIN]  send me a commitment, by email.  I have saved other emails, but I need two things  #1 a commitment  #2  a working email address [some of the messages  are coming back to me as "no such address"]
  Everyone, please take the time to send me both of the above at  JIMSFINEFORDS@YAHOO.COM

   Thanks to all, this is looking better every day.......Jim at  jimspinto

Hey flyerpinto, you are more than welcome to stay with us, if you can take 3 kids running around like madmen, hahahaha.  It is quite a drive from where I live, but if it makes things easier for you, than you are more than welcome to hang out at our place.

I think I'll just trailer my Pinto and come up and then follow along in the cruise, but the bad thing is, my dad started working at a GM dealership and now all our vehicles except  the Pinto is now a GM product, including our Chevy Silverado that we would use to pull the car up there so  :cheesy_p: A chevy in a group of Fords... don't know how that would go over with the Pinto locals  :surprised: I wish I had a Pinto driver.

Bobscat,

I appreciate the offer. I'm thinking I'm going to hit further up the path so I can make it easy on myself the day of the cruise-in, but truthfully I don't know. Actually, you're not all that far from me anyway, maybe 90 minutes or so. I wish I could get my fleet up there, but right now it's one at a time...

    YOUR  ATTENTION  PLEASE  !  !  !
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   I just received a message from Frank Canon.  My guess is that many of you know who he is,  But what you may not know is how dedicated he is to this hobby.  I will repeat his offer here, for two reasons.
   First, so that everyone could see that the offer came from him.  It wasn't a request, he offered.  I'm over joyed and at a total loss for words, we owe him alot of thanks thats for sure
   Second, please get back to me A.S.A.P. with a confermation on attending the  "Ohio Get Together", so I can forward to him a number to work with
   His offer was as follows,
         How about  "Ohio Pinto Gathering"
         with  "FordPinto.com"  small, under it
         I can do Vinyl......No charge
   There was other information in his message as to what I have to do in order tp receive them,  and I will sure as hell do it.
  But for all of you, heres a keep-sake thats better than a dash plaque         Something to be proud to have and show on your Pinto.
   So, get moving, make a commitment to be there, not only will everyone be waiting for you, so will your "Windshild Sticker"
   Send me an email, with your commitment today ! ! !
    Again my address is   JIMSFINEFORDS@YAHOO.COM .
Well its time for a update huh?
How are we doing on the Ohio get together?
Remember the smaller meets are as important as the Reganal meets.
All it takes are a few Pintos and good people.
  Hey Frank,
  Thanks for the up-date and comment, I was wondering myself what was happening and were all the pinto owners went to
.
  I just came back from the all ford swap meet in Columbus were I talked with alot of ford owners about the get together.  Found several pinto owners, and gave them my email address, hope that something comes from it
  I have been talking it up here at home, can tell you that the town fathers seem to be very open and appreative of the idea   Although they want me to do all the work,. [what ever that may be] I have no problem with that
  So far I'm still in the prosess of talking, but I'm looking forward to a great time for all.  I'm talking to and hopeing for some coverage and a photo shoot from the local news papers.  Gathering support from all the local auto parts supplyers [as I'm looking for donations to use as "give-aways, gifts etc.]  Have stoped and talked with the owners of a local Amish "Family Style" resturant, for a nice sit down dinner.  Like to do  a cruise [carevan type thing] thru the Amish settlements etc.   But there are alot of interesting things & places to see, [for anyone that doesn't want to cruise]  I will have everything set-up, with all the information available [at the time of the show] so everyone can deside what they want to do at that time
  I know this will be alot of fun, and hope for bigger particatain [then I see so far] so I like to both open it to our neighboring states, and ask that EVERYONE GET BACK TO ME, A.S.A.P.  with a commitment.  A few have asked about hotels/motels, and there are plenty around.  And the best thing is that Middlefield is so easy to get to   Its located between both major interstates  [I 90 & I 80]  on Ohio Rt. 87 & Ohio Rt. 608 [both wonder thru some beautfull ohio country side]
  So please email me at  JIMSFINEFORDS@YAHOO.COM  or call me at  440 591 8381  A.  S.  A.  P.
  My god, whats happening ?
  I look on here every day, sometimes two times a day.  I think I'm getting depressed.  Is there no [other than what I have] interest ?
  Come-on guys & girls, send me a message, make a commitment.  I'm all worked up, excited, think this will be a fun time.  I spend all my time [well not all of it] talking this up, getting the locals into expecting a bunch of "Pintos"  But I get depressed when I dont see any [new] pinto owners wanting to get involved.
  As a "Pinto Owner" all you'd have to do is show up and have fun.
  You know your going to be out there showing your Pinto come July, but I need some kind of a commitment now.  Need to tell the town fathers and the cruise operators what kind of space I will need.
  Again, my email address & phone number are
   JIMSFINEFORDS@YAHOO.COM   &   440 591 8391   Of course you could post a message here also
  Its not that early, you will be cruising soon, spread the word, come to Middlefield, see other [differant] pintos, have fun,  We wont have fun without you, so please........ ...
Trust me, I am not backing out on this, it just all hinges on whether or not I am here in Ohio, or 1650 miles away!   :lol:  I will definitely be there, however, if I am still on this seaboard.  In all actuality, if everything goes right, I would really like to bring both my cars!
   Have to tell about this !
   Today I got a phone call from Frank Canon.
    For those of you that are lucky enough to live near him [in Ok.] you have to know what kind of guy he his.  For all the rest of you [us] we need to give him a BIG THANKS.  Its unblieveable how dedicated he is to this [our] hobby
    We talked for sometime on the phone  [on his dime !]  His sole reason for calling was just because he wanted to help  [me]  with this get together.  Cant say enough about him thats for sure.
   Anyway, the reason for this post, is because Frank suggested that I tell you that the "Ohio Get Together" is open to EVERYONE.
  To use his words  "The Good - The Bad - and The Ugly.    He said that [maybe]  some of you that have "drivers"  and/or  Pinto's that you use daily, might think your not welcome.
   Oh, thats wrong, for sure you are.  It would be great to be able see a pinto that was used as a daily driver.   Maybe it even has a rust hole or two, but that adds all the more to the term "daily driver"
   A restored car, or even a hardly ever used, near perfect car is certainly a delight to see, but a car that survived for twenty five plus years, and is used everyday is well worth the look, and a most welcome treat.
   So, please, if you have a "daily driver" dont hesitate to come, your not only welcome, we'd love to have you
  Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Get Together,  The Good, The Bad and The Ugly,  [are there actually even any ugly pinto's ?]
   Jim at   jimspinto
  P.S.
  A comment about an unrestored car !
  There's a Model A pick-up thats in  "Barn Find Condition"   Even has a nail in the door hinge, and rotted out wood in the bed, that comes to some of the local cruises.  You wouldn't believe the number of people that gather around that truck.  A testimonial to a suviver, so please bring your daily driver.
Mine'll fit right in then. It was a daily driver by the previous owner and I planned on driving it a couple times a week, but it's been downhill since then. Atleast she'll have a freshened up engine for the meet. Heard a bad knock & found out the bottom end needs all new bearings.
JimsPinto-
Frank Called me and wanted to have the PCCA put a "wing" over your meet and officially call it a PCCA Mini Meet... (hence the board move and label changing)  No Modifications on your part- just full cooperation from your Admins and the site to support your efforts.
In one of the planning conference calls the admins & myself participated in late last year and early this- we laid out a plan to 'extend' the reach of the PCCA to more individuals across America as opportunity's presented themselves.
We fully support your efforts and stand with you,
Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
  Hello to all.
  To those of you that havn't seen anything new, I not sitting on my hands !
   I'v been out there talking this get together up to everyone.  I'm trying to get support from any [all] of the local bisiness's.  Maybe a "freebe" or two from a parts store etc.
   I'm also trying to set-up  some kind of a small convoy type cruise thru the area.  Thought a trip thru the amish settlement would be interisting.  Maybe a stop at a few of there shops or something.
  You'd be surprised at the number that dont seem to welcome the idea.  One actually said   "What do those english [they call us english] think we are, a zoo or something"
  However there some that will welcome us.  Like Buggy Shops, General Stroes, Etc.
   There are alot of interesting sights and places to visit.  Many more than we would have time to see.  But thats a idea or thought also
    There are alot of places to eat, and I'v been working on a place that would "acknowledge" us and our ponto.  I'm not looking for a price off deal, [allthough that would be nice]  Just looking at say someplace that would welcome us with open arms
   My thinking at the moment is to have everything set-up and written out. That way I could hand each person a paper as they arive, then maybe have a vote of what everyone wants to do
  It'd be nice if we [those that wanted to convoy etc.] meet early in the morning,  Say around 10am.  That way we will still be able to have our late afternoon / evening cruise,  see all the other cars etc.
  Any question, comments or suggestions, please post them here or email me dirrect at  JIMSFINEFORDS@YAHOO.COM  Phone number is  440 591 8381
  Thanks,,,,,,,,,,,Jim at  jimspinto
Cool Jim, thanks for the update. Sounds like lots of fun. It's been a long time since I've been through amish country.
Put me down for a possible.  I have to find out when the family fishing trip is.
I will not have the '78 up and running.  But I have another 2.3 I can bring.  ;)
Email sent, sir.
ETA:
I forgot to ask.  Does anyone need any Pinto related parts?
I have ~6 rallye wheels, ~3 center caps, 4 chrome rings, taking up space in my garage... and I think I still have a 4spd and the block taking up space in my dad's garage.
I might also get my green wagon trunk carpet out of the '78 by then.  If it is salvageable I can bring it up, too.
I can bring them to the meet if someone wants to look them over and make me an offer.  You know... gas money, food, nothing expensive.  You would be doing ME a favor.  I need the room.  ;)
ETA2:  I could also yank the rear axles, drums, front disks, calipers if anyone needs...
ETA3:  I walked out to the garage and remembered I can bring my front seats, too.  Driver's is well worn.  Passenger is in good condition.
Shame I can't pack it all up for the trip.  :p
  A comment on whether or not you [anybody] should bring all this stuff.
  I went to a Thunderbird [baby-bird] national meet that was held locally,  Most cars were trailered, so this allowed for alot more space to haul stuff
  I think it was like the true meaning of a "swap-meet"   Guys were tading stuff back and forth, selling it for VERY FAIR PRICES.
  Was certainly interesting, and everyone was there for fun, not to make money.  It added alot to the meet, thats for sure.  So bottom line, allthough this is not a swapmeet, its "Pintos Only"  so I wouldn't hesitate to bring a few items that you no longer need etc.
  As allways,  Jim at   jimspinto
  Just an update !
   First,
   I never mentioned this, but........
   I want to tell all of that I'm............. .
  #1 not very good on the computer.
  #2  cant type, never learned how, just taught myself.
  #3  cant spell worth a damm.
   All of this is out so, please excuse all my typo's and spelling error's
   Now on to the up-date.
   A week or so ago, I took a drive thru the "Amish" country.
  Myself and a friend, with a clip-board.
   I'd driven for about ten hours or so.  I'd crossed over the same roads more than two or three times.  Seemed I'd found alot more than I'd thought were there.
   But........I'd managed to set-up a REALY NICE "convoy type cruise"  Just have to now put it on paper, in a "map style"
   The finished thing  [cruise]  wont take anywhere near 10 hours, in fact, I'm going to set it up so's any part could be "deleted"   as needed.
    I'd made about 10 or 12 stops.  At woodworking, harnes, specialty shops, general stores, gifts shops, and a jelly shop.  So there should be plenty of places of interest, and things for the women to buy.  We all know how they love to shop, and never for car parts. [ha ha]
   I have also stoped at three of the "Amish Style eatery's"   Haven't gotten anything from them, but......let them think about it for a while.  Hope it gets to were there "vying for us" [if you know what i mean]
   So, as you can see, I'm not sitting still, doing nothing.  Looking forward to a great get together and cruise, see you all there and then.
   Please email me with any question or suggestions.  I'v left out any informatiom about over-night places, but there available, so dont hesitate to ask if you need help
    Again, my opening statement. I'm not going to "edit" this. or look up any spelling.  If you see any "errors" just have fun laughing about them.
    Best to all for now,,,,,,,,,Jim at   jimspinto
I have another post going about this topic but just in case it helps the cause...I need to find a Cruising Wagon with the triple stripe pattern that I can get measurements from to have a new set of stripes made. Is anyone going to the Ohio gathering with such a car? I'm going to be there with the purple Pinto (that actually used to have the stripes till some tool removed them with a grinder...sigh ...) so I could do the work. Anyone going to be up that way with a Cruising Wagon?
    Flyerpinto.
     I looked for your [other] post on this subject.  Then had a problem with my computer.  A friend has fixed the problem [actually it was me, not the machine].  Havn't gone back to look, but I'd suggest that you ask everyone  [anyone]  thats coming for the measurements.  Possibly somebody has access to such a car, even though they dont own one
     I saw one in a "Trade Mag." a while back, cant for the love of me remember where or who it was.  Think it was  "Auto Trader"  that you pick-up for a buck or so at the local delli.  If you have more computer savvy then me, you might try and Google [or whatever] that name, see if it [you] turn something up
    Best of luck, and see you at the "Meet",   Jim at  jimspinto
   Flyerpinto
    What am I doing ?.  I'm getting a headache trying to remember this.  I think it was a dealer [classic car dealer ?] in the "mid-western" part of the country.  Dont know why, but I seem to remember something like  "Ok"  or  "Ind"  [like there next to one another]
   At any rate, maybe this sends you in the correct dirrection, just hope your better with a computer then I am
    Again, the best to you & yours,  Jim at  jimspinto
