I will take some photos this weekend for you, but I guess you ditched the air pump on the side of the engine also , most do, you you still have the cats on the car, some pintos had duel cats some had a single , (mine used to have a single now none) you say they abolished smog testing there , how come they are still stick a sniffer in it ?, if they are you will have to have a cat on it , had a few friends up north that went through the same BS , the set up you have off the ranger work a little better than the stock pinto and later egr valves had sensors built into them and was run by a computer , which was also conected to a feedback carb, and a O2 sensor, that would be to much BS for any body to hook up, and is the car a daily driver , or a hobby , if it is a hobby and your going to keep the car and only have to test the car one time a year and want to stop the fear of not passing the test every time you go, find a used propane carb set up and hook it up temp (remove after the test) and you will have them beating the top of the test machine thinking something is wrong with it, it burns clean , (save for plan "B") later Blaine
