I've been looking for a Pinto to turn into a pinchero, but they are becoming hard to find around here. There is one without a title here, but would hate to track one down to be honest with you.

Good luck on your project!

Not to be negative, but you might want to try putting your wanted post in the WANTED section instead of the for sale section.

Diane, don't shy away from a deal because there is no title. Get the VIN and run a Carfax report. If no liens and it's not stolen you can buy the car then file for abandoned vehicle. Most states you can do this right online at the DMV website. Scored quite a few this way.

I called DMV, it's a long difficult process here in Idaho Scoot. I'm still looking, another will popup one day :)

Well if the price is right buy it because if you do find one it always needs something, like a fender or glass, door a/c parts ,etc.  if you got a place to put it, or practice on where to cut and fit the bed in the back, bad when you do get a good car and find yourself making a big mistake if you cut it the wrong way, ask me how I know 😱,  at least the second one came out nice , Later Blaine🔩

Unfortunately, Ford Pintos pre-date the days of Carfax.  There are no records to be had.  Good advice, though, on cars that are a bit newer.  Laws on cars without titles vary from state to state; some are easy... others make it nearly impossible.

And Idaho is a difficult one, a VERY difficult one, to obtain a title.

Virginia is no picnic either.  It took me nearly a year and even involved attorneys when I purchased a '79 Continental Mark V in Illinois!

Yep, so I stay away. You can't even crush a car here without the title. The last mistake I made buying one, I had to cut the car in half and bring it to the yard. No thanks, I'll stay with the titled cars.
