Portland Oregon area meets?
« on: October 23, 2014, 01:07:39 AM »
Anyone around the portland area interested in helping organize a little pinto enthusiast event? Nothing to big and fancy, just a little show and shine with bbq and potluck or something like that. Be nice to meet some other folks with this affliction. Maybe a couple times per year, so we can check out peoples project progress. One horse and I aren't much, but maybe with you and your horse...

Yes, I would be interested in meeting other Pinto owners in the Portland Oregon area. It would be the inspiration to complete my project...

I'm way in Idaho with Dave. It's a drive, but with the 2.3 engine I shouldn't have a problem getting there, even putting in the new AC :D

I totally forgot about this thread. I'm actually going to take the pinto to the eastport plaza car show and parade on saturday. If any of you want to coral the horses together for the show and such, I can get you the number to call. It's a $10 registration, all on the morning of.

I'll start to plan a pinto party too. You local guys want to meet up here in town? Or drive out of town a little and meet up somewhere wild?

I'm pretty sure it was the titanium door hinge pins that won them over.

I'd like to. I just couldn't find the time or the pintos last year. Between life, health issues and the pinto motor swap, I couldn't get around to much organizing. And I still have seen maybe 3 other pinto's in the time I'v had this one. Only got to meet one of the owners. If I could even get 5-10 of us together, I would love to organize a cruise and bbq type thing.

I will be entering the lents area car show this spring, in s.e. portland, again this year. If nothing else, maybe we could get a couple pintos clustered up over there.

I've managed to get about 10 Pintos in the line up for the next 82nd ave of roses cruise in, on April 25th. I'm going to get a whole area the Pinto coral. I'm also going to try to get all of us to a pre-meet sometime soon, maybe have some bbq.

I have to talk to my grandson about my blue sedan.  I gave it to him for his first car.  I need to do some electrical work on my Cruizer.  We'll try to make it.

I'm aiming for a few shows this year, so there is time.

I'm getting even more responses! Horses of EVERY color! And various build styles as well as survivors. We may need a picture taker.

So... I just found out the website I found for the 82nd cruise in, was for last year. It's April 30th this year. And we have the go ahead for the Pinto invasion, along with the clustering of the cars too. I'm going to sponsor a couple trophies this year, to help us make a good impression with the culture folks, and it's all for charity.

I'll pm everyone about the date change as well. Sorry.

So here's the plan for the pre-show meet up. Saturday April 16th at Jim Dandy's drive in @ 4:00 pm. Plenty of parking, and food/drinks are available. Cool old joint, if you've never been there. Please rsvp me if you can make it.

Check out jimdandydrivei n.com for all the info on where to go.
