Hi and thanks for the nice comments! They were mustang II headers that I thought might fit properly based on what another internet 302 swapper said. However that wasn't the case. I ended up cutting them apart and snaking a couple of tubes around the steering shaft. I have about 30 hours and about $600 in them. They tuck up nicely though without hitting anything.  
Having said that a 351 might be a bigger challenge but I think its doable! Check out this months Car Craft they have a header build article that shows the basics.however I built mine up with plain hose clamps to mock before I welded them up.

Very nice! Like the headers. Were they for a pinto swap and clear the motor mounts? Building a 351w and t5 for my 72 Sprint or my 79 trunk car. Haven't decided.
