« on: April 06, 2015, 06:13:10 PM »
Anyone know about the early Pinto at last years SEMA show? I saw it on TV this morning. It is in the ultimate street car challenge.
Pinto-is short for pint-o-fun.

Yep, that's Joe's car... he was at SEMA last year.  It's a 1974 with a small bumper modification to look older.  He drove it cross-country from California to Pennsylvania and back in 2011 for the 40th Anniversary Pinto meet at Carlisle.  There is all kinds of information on this car contained within this site. If you poke around a bit, you'll find it.

He has a YouTube channel with more recent stuff. Apparently the car has a lot more done to it than what is covered on his site. I noticed the late '90s Mustang 16" wheels right away (which means a 5-lug swap) and now it has a 2.3T and MegaSquirt EFI as well. It moved respectably for an oval-port 2.3, but now it ought to scoot pretty well.  8) And it's refreshing to see one not turned into a drag car...
'72 Runabout - 2.3T, T5, MegaSquirt-II, 8", 5-lugs, big brakes.
'68 Mustang - Built roller 302, Toploader, 9", etc.
