Revers lights connection for a turbo coupe T5 swap

So how do I get the reverse lights to work on my pinto with T5 swap. I have the plug for the pinto. One has a blue plug that goes to the exact same two hole plug that the T5 from the tbird goes. the other section has a black plug and the connector has these two connector slots similar to a house wall socket. Can I split the loom and just plug the blue portion to the T5 trans? Do both plugs need to be plugged in? If so what do I do with the house style connector that goes to nothing on my T5?

A "house style connector" does not sound right, maybe somebody modified it.  Any way, there should be four wires in the tunnel.  Two go to the reverse light switch on the transmission.  The other two are for the starting interlock switch on auto transmissions.  For manual cars, the interlock wires were just jumpered together at the tunnel plug to complete the circuit.  Before jumpering them together, I would use a volt ohm meter to make sure that is what you have (especially if it is not stock).  If it is the starting interlock circuit, one side should go the starting solenoid small wire terminal (non-coil side) and the other one goes to the ignition switch start out put (for 71-73 Pinto's).  Later years may have added extra complexity to this circuit.

Whats strange is my car starts without the jumper. Anyone know why? Secondly since its already starting, does that mean all I have to do is worry about is the two wires going to the tranny for the reverse lights?

If it starts without the interlock jumper at the transmission tunnel 4 wire connector, odds are somebody in the past 40 years added a jumper some where else in the wiring harness for some reason.  At the very least, I would tape up those 2 wires separately so that they do not short something (incase they are still tied to something at their other end).

The other 2 wires should be for the back up light switch.  Since there is evidence of custom wiring, I would check them out with a volt ohm meter to see where they go.  On a stock 71-73 Pinto, the white-pink wire comes from a fuse panel and the black pink wire goes to the back up lights.  If this is where your 2 transmission back up switch wires go, it should work.

The chassis connector with two spade/flat terminals is for the reverse light switch.

The other one that fits on the T5's reverse lamp switch is I guess for the neutral interlock. That would be too easy if the T5 lights were truly plug 'n' play.
