'75 2.3 camshaft timing marks
« on: March 12, 2011, 11:51:25 PM »
Can someone please tell me where the cam timing marks are on a 1975 2.3 liter and how they need to align when the number 1 cylinder is at tdc?? Thanks in advance for any help!

This link is for a latter model 2.3 but I believe it should work for your cam timing.

A couple words of caution found from playing with the 2.0 engines.  Take up the slack in the driven side of the belt (crank-aux gear-cam) before setting final tension/timing.  Avoid large moves in rotating things backwards before full tension is set and locked down (took teeth off the expensive belt ounce doing this).
