Title: 1976 MPG Wagon...1 owner
Post by: falconwagon62 on March 12, 2012, 08:19:10 PM
Picked up a unmolested 76 wagon, 2.3L with a 4 speed, dealer installed AC...cheapo... got it home, nice underside, has surface rust, not full of holes, a day with a DA will do wonders...I am not getting any spark, been sitting a long time, 1995 last tagged...so I want to hear it run before I go to far...Ugly, but I like her...

Nice, do not forget to check out the wiring etc. Remember all of the A/C stuff that is dealer installed is different  from factory but you can still get the parts. So what are you going to do with the wagon?

hope to have it running over the weekend, if it runs good, I will fix it up for a new parts chaser....if it don't run or knocks ect....I will have to think, or part it out.....I am not going a full resto like I did on my cruising wagon, I did on hear 2 years ago.....John 513-312-8799

76 is my favorite grille. You're right about the DA. I've done bodywork for 45 years and a DA is one of the best body and fender inventions since I've been at it. Some 80# and high fill urethane primer and that car will be unrecognizable in a couple days. Fixing to go take pics of that door and fender in a few minutes. Think I already sent you an e-mail? $111 for the door to Cincinnati with $300 insurance. I didn't think that was too bad? Brian 918-916-2255

Did you build the black Cruisin Wagon? No doubt about your body and fender skills to get one that smooth in black. Kudos!!

This car looks very very familiar. Would it happen to be the one from craigslist in Columbus for $600?

That's cool. I thought about looking at that car & possibly buying it but since I don't have a place to put it I chose not to. It's a shame since I'm already in Columbus lol.

Grrrr....I hate you lol. If I was able to get that car I would gladly junk mine & put the good engine, transmission & interior in it. My Pinto looks good but is rather rotted underneath. BIGTIME.... You're one lucky guy lol

Wheels hit the ball joints, so I dug the rally wheels out of the shop, she's running and driving pretty good, next MAJOR sanding down and Expoxy priming and semi gloss.....we'll see....I want to finish my Ranchero and my 66 Fastback, then my 64 Sprint is due back from the body shop....I always have to much to do.....

I have the GT Turbines on my Pinto, I had to use 4x108x25mm bolt on spacers to use them without breakin my shizod up... the strut rod bushings on the left front side of my pinto are effed so when I would hit the brakes with the 1/4" spacers on it took off alot of material on the inside of the rim.
