My freedom fighter
« on: February 18, 2009, 11:04:27 PM »
I just found this forum and would like to pay tribute to my FREEDOM FIGHTER.

Army Specialist Robert Sharpe JR.

1978- 2007

He lost his life in Iraq when a RPG hit his Hummer. He is now on patrol in heaven!

Yes, He is my son. I am very proud of him and always will be.

With Respect,
Maj. Robert Sharpe SR, USAFR

My gratitude and condolences. My dad did two tours in Vietnam in the air force then jumped to army. He served 28 years and raised 3 kids. We lost track of each other after my mom passed.

I salute you and your good brave son Carolina Boy! I am so proud of our soldiers and sailors past and present. Without them where would we be?

P.S. I hope I don't upset you, but that '78 you just got... could that maybe be your beloved Robert JR. saying hey?

Thank you to all our heroes in and out of uniform. I'm so sorry for your loss Carolina Boy. He died a hero.

My deepest condolences, Robert.  Be proud, not only of your beloved son, but of the proud duty for which he gave his life.

Many of our men and women in the service dont get the recognition they deserve, Weather or not they are WWII/Nam Desert storm of the newest of wars, None get the Honor they deserve. Especially from the VA hospital and even our own government tends to shy away from those who have put their lives on the line for us as a country so that we can thrive. I say Honor them all as if each individual person grabbed your hand and helped you crawl walk or run to safety. They give there all.

I know i did. and if i was able to i would gladly do it again.
