All done putting in a 1975 pinto 2.3L engine in my 1947 Willys. New battery, starter relay, and Ignition Module ( old one was oozing goo) here is my problem when I turn the key on for the first time the engine turned over but when I turned the key off the starter kept running. I had to wrench the positive battery cable off before thing got bad. I hope someone can get me unscrewed.

Normally that means the solenoid is trashed. Even new ones can be junk at times.

Thanks for that info, took it back to parts store where I got it, the parts guy said I was the third one in so many months with the same problem. Gave me a more expensive one refunded my money for the price of that one, put the new one on and it worked just like it was suppose to.

I had the same problem. The starter solenoid was sticking. Changed that and the problem went away.

Glad to hear that was it. I look for NOS Motorcraft solenoids on ebay when I need them. Screw that Chinese junk they sell.
