Celebrity-owned Pintos
« on: December 28, 2014, 07:41:40 AM »
The other day I stumbled onto an article about actors/actresses who died much too young.  Included in this list was Anissa Jones (Buffy of TV's FAMILY AFFAIR) who died of a drug overdose in 1976 at age 18.  The article said that upon turning 18, she suddenly had access to all the royalties from her childhood work and that she spent some of it to buy her brother a new Camaro and a brand new Pinto for herself.  There was even a photo of her with her white 1976 Pinto. It just got me to thinking... have other celebrities owned Pintos?  Does anyone know?  Certainly not out of the realm of possibility.  For instance, popular comedian Ernie Kovaks was usually seen tooling about town in his flashy Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud but when he was killed in a car crash, it was in a Chevrolet Corvair station wagon!  Anyone out there know of other Pinto-owning celebrities, past or present?

Seems like all the people who owned Pintos when they were celebrities are DEAD (and died young)!  That said, I'll bet you there are a lot of current celebrities who at a lesser time in their career drove a Pinto.  The Pinto was like the VW Beetle of the 70's.

I'm not a fan of the guy, but I read in a British music magazine a few years ago that interviewed Lenny Kravitz. Lenny said he lived in his Pinto before he became famous.

Pintocrazed, is this the Pinto you're referring to? If it is, it's at Pinto Barn in Costa Mesa.

I suppose to some people it may be a bit more valuable, but it would have to be a celebrity that I care something about in order for that to influence me.
