Hi All,
I hope I'm not hijacking this topic but I thought it would be fitting in the FPH column. Today is Memorial Day- if memory serves me, formerly Decoration Day. It was a day to tidy up our fallen heroes' final resting places and reflect what their final full measure really means to us. It was a day of respect and we hohored our fallen. This day, incidentally, (yes if memory still serves me) was started during- or right after- the War Between The States (the Civil War) when Southern ladies would go to their respective cemeteries and clip the grass, pull weeds, and otherwise respectfully neaten up their late loved ones' graves.
If I am mistaken about this please correct me, as I'm flying on memory alone.
I want us now to honor and remember what our military heroes have sacrificed so that we can live in a country without tyrrany and opression. If you have lost a loved one please remember them and honor their gift to America. If you have a loved one still serving please tell them how much they mean to you and thank them for their contribution for a free U.S.A.
And remember... as Billy Ray Cyrus sang, "All gave some, but some gave all."
