Wagon tailgate weatherstrip

After watching the steady drip... drip ... drip of water coming in through the tailgate weatherstrip, I did a little poking around and found a perfect generic w/s. I'd read about using w/s from other models/makes, but figured there had to be a better way. It took about 30 minutes to install (including cleaning) and looks virtually identical to the original. Pics are on the cell phone, but I'll post a couple up tonight. I think I've found an identical replacement for the side pop out windows too.
Next..... the windshield.... ... :o

Where did you get the seal from? I need to replace my wagon's rear hatch seal but have no idea what to use or where to get it. It looks great!

Dave, thanks to pintopower I was turned on to weatherstrippi ng from  a first generation Ford Focus (the two-door model). At the junkyard I paid all of about $5 for two of them. They came off the doors of the Focus and fit almost perfectly in both the wagon tailgate and the Runabout hatch. I had to cut a couple cinches off for both but what a deal!  ;D

I bought extra and have enough left for another hatch. $20 plus the ride and it's yours. It isn't $5, but it's not used either  ;)

The Ebay w/strip is only 10' long, and a wagon uses 12-1/2'. I'll have to check the leftover piece to make sure it is long enough. It measures 12' 4" and I didn't measure the piece I put on.... it could be a couple inches longer. If a trunk model uses a little less, this would be an even better buy.

I fit the remainder up to my wagon and there is enough to do another tailgate. It's a few inches long, so it's a trim to fit (easy).

I didn't see that listing when I checked Ebay, just the one from Steele. If they get $45 plus shipping I'm going into the weatherstrip biz! (after I sell this one).

If you need this w/strip, you can find it at (of all places) JC Whitney. The wagon w/strip is shown HERE.
The w/strip for the popout windows should be #1, but I'll have to refer to the catalog as I don't see a link for it online.
After installing, use a silicone spray on the strip to prevent sticking, and make sure your hatch is properly adjusted.
