Crazy Question?
« on: August 13, 2012, 06:06:24 PM »
 Does anyone know how much water pressure is coming out of the water pump going into the heater core? The reason that I am asking is that I am experimenting with a project for my 76.

Tommy--  In my old hilljack mind, I think--no that can't be right.
I thought that the pressure would be the same as the radiator cap;
but as it is a closed system it wouldn't exert that pressure in the loop
to the heater.   Hell I ain't got no idea so there.

I have no idea, but I would just install a Tee with a pressue guage if i needed to know.  Just need some hose clamps, maybe 3/8" black fittings, a couple of nipples and a guage.
Yeh and give Sherry a hug from the bagi's too!

Stock caps are 13 psi so less than 20 even at boiling point.

Pops, It's a heck of a question. Norm, That's a good idea. I gotta try that this weekend. Pinto5.0, I was thinking around 20 psi.
I am kinda knee deep in an Experiment and was just wondering.
