Legion ( movie )
« on: February 04, 2010, 04:40:53 AM »
I felt the other movie post had died.
Today I went and saw the movie Legion, so-so, and saw the best Pinto apperance ever! It was sad but it summed it all up; clean early white pinto wagon with wood panneling gets brought to a stop by gun fire then a car rear ends it and explodes.
Now let me tell you I am a huge Pinto fan but I am also a fan of when something is done right. Any car could have been rear ended and explode. I actually think this was a real explosion in result of the impact, not pyrotechnics.

The Pintos in movies post didn't die as far as I'm concerned... AS for exploding Pintos.... I think everyone knows what I think of people who still mistakenly think Pintos "explode".  Contrary to naive belief, they have been known to ignite, catch on fire (sometimes not), burst into flames, but NOT explode. That's sensationalism at its finest. Bombs explode, not cars (unless it had a bomb or TNT in or on it). Ok I've said my piece.  ;D

Sorry didn't mean -explosion- so literally. Guess what I should have said was; gas tank was ruptured, by what ever means, causinge dispensing and airation of the fuel. In which a ignition source, probly a spark from the impact, caused it to ignite. Quickly, I might add. I would be willing to wager the rupture of the tank and spark had noting to do with diff bolts tearing through the gas tank but the impact of the acident.

The only thing exploding in Pintoville is my head!  :surprised: :hypno: :lost: lol.

Seroiusly folks, I'm not trying to be the bad guy (actually girl) here but it's a pet peeve to have the Ford Pinto described as "exploding" or that they "explode"  because, except in the movie "Top Secret" and other rigged instances, they simply didn't explode. I have loved Pintos all my thinking life, and throughout that time I've heard people-namely people who never cared for them anyway- describe them in that way.  People who know Pintos know better than to describe them as a car that "explodes" when it's rear-ended. I am sorry if I offended anyone but I'm sticking to my guns on this.

No problems here! The dogma that pintos have about them had lead me to use the word "explode". And for that I am wrong in the name of pinto's image. It was a large, quick igniting, energetic fire ball that happened to be from a pinto. Truely glad to see people care.
