1976 Ford Pinto Stallion edition: Anybody got one?
« on: March 15, 2008, 11:44:17 AM »
I think the 76' Stallion Edition is pretty sweet-looking, I'd love to have one. Anybody on these forums got one? If you do, please post your story and pictures, I'd love to read over them.

"THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY"
(A sad end to one)

I was looking for an 8 inch rear end to go under my 71 Hanto and went to a local Pick Your Part. (Aug. 27 07 Sun Valley, Ca.)  I found and pulled TWO of them. A Maverick 5 lug and 76 Pinto 4 lug. The 76 Pinto was repainted Cheapo white but was COMPLETE UN-STRIPPED with only fender damage on the passanger side to about 3/4 back to the wheel. Hood was untouched but the grill had the tabs broken in the impact. RUST FREE. The black trim doors replaced my son's 71 bubbling ones and came with the Rally Mirrors with remotes. It was a V6 AIR car...all there. I did not realize it was a STALLION until later. I was TOO new to "back into Pintos" to realize the GOLD (I mean Black and Silver) that passed before me!  :hypno:

I have been going to this Junk Yard off and on for 20 years mostly for 69 and 70 Mustang parts. I remember the days when there would be 5-20 Pintos EVERY TIME I went for YEARS!!!! :o

I was actually dead set on having my pinto painted that color for a while, I liked it so much. I agree, it really is a sleek looking paint job.

I actually plan to paint mine the silver and black when I can afford the paint job for it. It's going to cost a fortune as it needs a ton of dents covered up. It may not be so expensive in the end if I can find a set of 78 doors that don't have the window frame separating from the door.
