Weird Coincidence:  I live in CA.  Bought my V8 Pinto from PintoPaul in Idaho and needed to sell my BMW K1200LT to make room for it in the garage.  It just sold it on ebay...to a guy in Idaho!

Newb here from ohio
« on: January 27, 2012, 05:14:09 PM »
ok, first off, im a general car nut, (hence the screen name) and all around ford lover. i been working on cars for over 20 years now, i grew up in the industary and i love what i do.

figured i would sign up here, since i love to hate the internet, but im here for info on my newest project.

project bobmeow (bobcat wagon)
not sure if im going to keep it yet, if if im going to part it out.
my ideas so far, is to 2.3 turbo swap it, or 302 it with efi and turbo it later.
or just part it out. i like doing personal projects on a cheap budget. and having the parts to 5.0 it would be much easier on me in the long run.

looking for the pics of it now...

Well the 2.3 turbo swap is the easiest. I sometime wish I had done that instead of the V8. What kind of shape is the car in? I hate to see good cars parted out.

its a bit rusty, plus its shizod brown, and wood paneling sides. seems like it has a pretty solid chassis tho. if i where to v8 it, i wouldnt touch the body. im all about sleepers. plus stock efi of the 5.0 is much easier to tweak then 2.3 stuff is, cause then you have to go stand alone speed denisty mega squirt , which i am not a fan of. since i have made over 800 wheel with stock ford eec stuff, i mean it make more sense. less room with the v8, but thats where the turbo idea makes it simpler in my mind.

im still digging for the pics i have of the thing. its just been sitting around for a year now. plus with it have the 8" in it, a mild v8 makes too much sense IMO. it is what it is tho. plus i think it would make a neat shop car for the business i own.
