Weird Coincidence:  I live in CA.  Bought my V8 Pinto from PintoPaul in Idaho and needed to sell my BMW K1200LT to make room for it in the garage.  It just sold it on ebay...to a guy in Idaho!

Of course I will be there, can't miss all the comments from the Mustang owners. Not to mention the "I had one of those" replies from the public. And that line of Pintos of different colors and conditions is very impressive. But the important thing is the Pinto owners that go there, are a bunch of GREAT people, intelligent, friendly and willing to help one another. And if you notice there is a very great age difference, from very young to old (me). Hurray! Keep those Pintos running!! ::)

I'm in a race between:
"You must have your registration form postmarked by April 6 and received shortly after."

And:
If replacing the head gets the '73, Turbo Pinto wagon running decently and that can be accomplished before April 6th, then yes, I plan on being there.

----------------------------------------------------------

I started porting my replacement head today. I wasn't intending to port it, but if I'm putting a head on it simply doesn't get to the car without passing the grinder.  ;D

The donor car engine ran crappy. I knew that. I tried to get by on the cheap and didn't replace the head bolts.  Strange though, no water lose or bubble.  No smoking.  But #2 only has 80 PSI, the others in the 140-150 PSI range.  I put oil in the cylinder, but still only 80 PSI so I'm assuming (and hoping) it's not rings.

Anyway, hopefully next week I'll have the ported, roller cammed head on and be running much better than I was.  If not I'll still probably go, but without my Pinto.  :'(

Tom do it the aircraft way on #2, get it at top dead center on compresion pump air into cylinder listen to intake then go back to exhaust pipe then take oil cap off, so what ever 1 you hear air leaking thats youre problem.  Fred   :)

You know Fred, I tried that.  But my "over 50" ears either can't hear it or I hear it everywhere.

The head is ported, the chamber is cleaned up the valves are done.  I just need to get the head set gaskets and find some time next week to swap out the head.  Hopefully that is the major issue. I ran codes and nothing important was found.

 We will see next week.

Hi Brad, Should arrive about 7:30 from S.D. and unload at Sears. I'll be at Denny's? for breakfast bout 8:00 and then we can caravan into the show. It's a blast to see everyone look when your bringing 40 pintos to the show. The restaurant is on Beach about 1/4 mile west of Knotts, lets see I should make it there in 11 seconds. Ha. I just read the Registration form and it says that they start letting cars in at 7am and no cars are allowed in after 10am. So that means we would have to be done eating breakfast and on our way to the show before 10am!! Wouldn't it?

I think it's time to break out of the ol' corral. Doesn't running around in circles get a little old? Stop spinning your wheels and breathe in that fresh air of Freedom... who knows... the pastures in the southland might be greener, and maybe the holder of your beckoning bucket of oats might need to escape the hobbles too.  Just a thought...only a thought... ;) :fastcar: :tgif: Thank Goodness I'm Free!

Becky,
I would love to debate the concept of "free". Many wise people have defined it in the past. "Gas, Grass , Or A** no one rides for free" A free republic (Hah)
Free energy (Nah) Free will (maybe) Free Willie (Woah!) Free Range (Yah,good Chicken & Beef)
Free to attend, (subjective, open to interpretation) Free to converse,(Hmmm another human challenge, Flirtation is a prosecutable offense!)

Free to abstain, (not if Big Brother has his way!)

Hmmmmm , more oats, all organic, steel cut , with Fresh molasses..

 Neigh ,frrbbb, neigh... Ohh Wilbur...

I was merely trying to convince certain pintosophers to come celebrate Pintos at Knotts, not start a debate about freedom. Nothing- NOTHING in life is free. So I'll be happy with what I have... the sun, my pets, my home, my Pinto. :D
